Montesquiu is a small town in Catalonia, Spain. It's known as a municipality, which is like a local government area. It's part of a larger region called a comarca, specifically Osona.
This town is located in the northern part of the Osona region. It sits right next to the Ter river, which is a beautiful natural feature. Montesquiu is also important because it's on a main route that connects the big city of Barcelona with Puigcerdà. You can get there by the N-152 road or by train using the RENFE railway line.
A very special landmark in Montesquiu is its castle, which was built way back in the 1200s! Today, this old castle is used for fun cultural events, especially during the summer. Montesquiu became part of the Osona region in 1990. Before that, it was part of a different area called Ripollès.
