Morón is a town in Venezuela, located right on the coast of Carabobo State. It's the main town, or capital, of the Juan José Mora Municipality.
Many important businesses are found nearby. These include the El Palito refinery, which is one of the biggest oil refineries in Venezuela. There's also Planta Centro, which is the country's most important electricity plant. Major highways, like motorways 1 and 3, meet here. This connects the western part of Venezuela with the central area.

- The Casa de la Cultura, or Culture House, is in the old part of Morón.
- The Santa Ana church is a historical building.
- You can also see the Monument to the Mosquito, which is in the city center.
A Look at History
Morón first appeared in official church records in the 1700s. Back then, it was known as Santa Ana de Morón.
This area was a hiding place for many enslaved people who had escaped. One famous person, Andresote, took shelter in the mountains nearby. From there, he helped organize revolts.
Later, during the Federal War in 1859, Morón and other towns in the area were burned down. This was a difficult time for the region.
