Moresby is a small area located northeast of Geraldton, a city in Western Australia. It sits on the northern side of the Chapman River. This area is part of the City of Greater Geraldton, which is its local government.

Moresby officially became a recognized area in 1980. This means its boundaries and name were formally approved by the government.
Population of Moresby
In 2016, a survey called the Australian census counted the number of people living in Moresby. At that time, the population was 870 people.
Plans for a New Community
In 2019, a company from Singapore called Pip Holdings suggested building a new community in Moresby. This plan included building up to 1,500 houses. It also proposed a shopping area and a school.
However, this project was put on hold in 2020. This happened because of the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused many changes around the world. The project has not started since then.
