Morse is a small place in Johnson County, Iowa, in the United States. It's called an unincorporated community. This means it's not officially a town or city with its own local government.

Morse is part of the larger Iowa City area. This area is known as the Metropolitan Statistical Area. It includes Iowa City and the communities around it.

Morse's Story: A Look Back

Morse was started a long time ago, in 1871. The very first person to settle there was William Jayne. One of the people who helped found Morse was A.W.G. Morse. He was an early settler in Iowa. He even wrote journals about his experiences, which you can read today!

Long ago, Morse was a stop on a train line called the Burlington, Cedar Rapids and Northern Railway. This railway later became part of another big train company, the CRI&P. So, trains used to pass through Morse regularly.

In 1925, about 91 people lived in Morse. Today, Morse has several houses. It also has a special place called the Morse Community Club.

Community Fun

Every year, the people of Morse have a big celebration on July 3rd. It's a fun event for everyone! The celebration includes a parade, yummy food, and exciting fireworks. It's a great way for the community to come together.
