Moses James Tyson Jr. (born May 21, 1961) is an American gospel musician and organ player. He began his music journey in 1973. He learned to play the guitar by listening, so he could play on an album for his cousin, Sly Stone.
His first album, I Made up My Mind, was released in 1992. His second album, Music, came out in 1999 and appeared on two different Billboard magazine music charts. Later, his album Music Remastered & Sacred Organ Music was released in 2010 and also charted on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart. Moses Tyson Jr. has also toured, playing guitar and organ for famous musicians like Billy Preston and Timothy Wright.

Moses James Tyson Jr. was born on May 21, 1961, in Vallejo, California. His father, Reverend Moses Tyson Sr., and his mother, who was a church pianist, both loved music. This helped Moses Jr. become interested in playing the organ when he was a child and teenager.
When he was 12 years old, his cousin, Sly Stone, encouraged him to learn the guitar. Sly Stone wanted Moses Jr. to play on his albums.
