Mount Daniel is a very tall mountain in the Ammergau Alps. It is the highest peak in this mountain range! Imagine standing on top of it – you'd be 2,340 metres (7,680 ft) (that's over 7,600 feet!) above sea level. This amazing mountain is located in Tyrol, Austria. It stands proudly above the charming villages of Ehrwald and Leermoos. Mount Daniel also has two neighbors, Upsspitze and Hochschrutte, which are other peaks nearby.

Climbing Mount Daniel: An Adventure

Climbing Mount Daniel can be an exciting adventure! The journey often begins by heading towards Tuftalm. This is a small, cozy lodge located partway up the mountain. It's a great place to rest before continuing your climb.

Reaching Tuftalm Lodge

Tuftalm lodge is 1,502 metres (4,928 ft) (about 4,900 feet) higher than the village of Lermoos. You can start your hike to Tuftalm from either Ehrwald or Lermoos. Both villages offer paths that lead up to this welcoming lodge.

Paths to the Summit

Once you reach Tuftalm, you have a choice of two different paths to get to the very top of Mount Daniel. One path is considered easier, which might be better for those who are newer to mountain climbing. The other path is more difficult, offering a bigger challenge for experienced hikers. No matter which path you choose, reaching the summit of Mount Daniel is a rewarding experience!
