One famous person from Mount Willing was Thomas Hinman Moorer. He became a very important leader in the United States Navy. He served as the Chief of Naval Operations from 1967 to 1970. This means he was the top officer in charge of the entire Navy! Later, from 1970 to 1974, he became the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. This was an even bigger job, where he was the main military advisor to the President of the United States.
Another talented person born here was John Lee (1915–1977). He was a country blues musician. He played the guitar and piano, and he was also a singer and songwriter.
