She was a member of the famous hip-hop group Boogie Down Productions (BDP) and was married to KRS-One, another well-known rapper. People remembered her as a strong female rapper who could stand out among male artists.

Ms. Melodie's Music Journey
Ms. Melodie started her music career in the late 1980s. She was known for her powerful and direct rapping style. She joined the Stop the Violence Movement in 1989. This movement aimed to use hip-hop to promote peace and stop violence.
Hit Songs and Album Release
Her single, "Hype According to Ms. Melodie," was praised for its energetic style. Ms. Melodie and other members of BDP appeared in the movie I'm Gonna Git You Sucka. Her only album, called Diva, was released in 1989. KRS-One helped produce most of the songs on this album.

Ms. Melodie's Personal Life
Ramona Scott grew up in the Flatbush area of Brooklyn, New York City. Her older sister, Pamela Scott, was also a musician. Pamela, known as Harmony, later became a lead singer for the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. She won six Grammy awards with the choir.
Ms. Melodie was married to KRS-One from 1987 to 1992. She had two sons. Ramona Scott passed away on July 17, 2012, when she was 43 years old. Her death was due to health problems that were not publicly shared.
