History
Murphy had a post office that opened in 1901. A post office is where people send and receive mail. It was an important place for the community to connect with others. The person in charge of the post office was called a postmaster. For many years, a man named Robert Murphy was the postmaster there. The post office stayed open for a long time, but it closed down in 1963.
