Murphys Estates, also known as Murphy Village, is a community located in Edgefield County, South Carolina, in the United States. It is a special type of place called a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's an area that the U.S. Census Bureau identifies for statistical purposes, but it's not an officially incorporated town or city.

In 2010, about 1,441 people lived here. Murphys Estates is part of the larger Augusta, Georgia metropolitan area, which includes cities and towns around Augusta, Georgia.

This community is home to the largest known group of Irish Travellers in the United States. A report mentioned that about 1,500 people live in Murphy Village, and they share only about 11 different family names. This shows how close-knit the community is.

Murphys Estates is found near the southern edge of Edgefield County. Its exact location is 33°35′41″N 81°56′28″W / 33.59472°N 81.94111°W / 33.59472; -81.94111.

Roads and Travel

U.S. Route 25 runs right through Murphys Estates. If you travel south on this road for about 8 miles (13 km), you'll reach North Augusta. Going north for about 17 miles (27 km) will take you to Edgefield, which is the main town of the county. Interstate 20 is also close by, about 2 miles (3 km) south on US 25 at Exit 5.
