Mustafa Cengiz (born December 25, 1949 – died November 28, 2021) was a Turkish businessman. He was best known for being the president of the famous sports club Galatasaray S.K..

Early Life and Education
Mustafa Cengiz was born on December 25, 1949, in Nizip, a town in southeastern Turkey. He went to school in his hometown. Later, he studied at Ankara University, focusing on political science.
Career Highlights
Mustafa Cengiz started his career working in foreign trade for an agriculture cooperative. When he was 28, he became the general manager of a large economic group called TANSA. This group was created by many local governments. He was one of the youngest people to hold such a high position in the public sector.
After 1980, he moved into private business. He worked in foreign trade, especially in countries in the Middle East, using his knowledge of the Arabic language. From 1990 onwards, Cengiz ran his own companies that dealt with petroleum products. He also served as the chairman for a union of gasoline and LPG dealers in Turkey.
Leading Galatasaray S.K.
Mustafa Cengiz was chosen to be part of a special committee for the Galatasaray S.K. sports club. His job was to help create new rules for the club.
On January 20, 2018, Cengiz became the 37th president of Galatasaray S.K.. He won the election with more votes than the previous president. He served as president until June 2021, when Burak Elmas took over the role.
Personal Life and Passing
Mustafa Cengiz was married and had one son named Sarper, who was born in 1984.
Sadly, Mustafa Cengiz passed away in Istanbul on November 28, 2021, at the age of 71. He had been ill with cancer since early 2020. He was buried at Ulus Cemetery in Istanbul.
