MyLifeIsAverage (often called MLIA) was a fun website where people could share short stories about their everyday lives. It was a bit like another site called FMyLife, but instead of sharing bad or unlucky moments, MLIA was all about the normal, average, or even slightly boring things that happen to people.

Users would send in their stories. Other people visiting the site could then vote on these stories. If enough votes showed that a story was interesting or funny enough, it would appear on the website's main page. Over time, newer stories would push older ones further down the page. Anyone could share a story, and people could also leave comments on stories they liked.

What are MLIA Stories Like?

Most stories on MLIA followed a simple pattern. They almost always started with the word "Today" and ended with the phrase "MLIA". This made them easy to spot and read quickly.

For example, a story might be: "Today, I found a matching sock in the laundry. MLIA."

Who Used MyLifeIsAverage?

The website became quite popular and received more than 100,000 stories from people. Most of the users who shared stories or visited the site were students. Many were in high school or college.

Why Was MLIA Created?

One of the people who helped start the site, Guru Khalsa, explained the idea behind MLIA. He said they wanted to "bring to light" (or show) how many ordinary or even silly things people share online. It was a way to highlight the everyday moments that might not be exciting but are still part of life.
