My Little Pony: A Very Pony Place is an animated movie released straight to video. It was made by SD Entertainment and distributed by Paramount Home Entertainment, working with Hasbro. This film is the fourth movie in the third series of My Little Pony adventures. It's special because it's the first one to tell three different stories in one film! It came out on February 6, 2007, and many people liked it.

Movie Plot: Three Pony Tales

Unlike earlier My Little Pony specials, A Very Pony Place tells three separate stories. Each story focuses on new pony characters. These new friends include Lily Lightly, Storybelle, Star Flight, Heart Bright, and Puzzlemint.

Lily Lightly's Adventure

The first story is called Come Back, Lily Lightly. It's all about Lily Lightly, a special unicorn pony. Lily announces a big event called the Night of the Thousand Lights. This event includes a Rainbow Lights party. All the unicorn ponies in Unicornia decorate the place with lights.

After dark, Unicornia is beautifully lit up. Cheerilee gives Lily Lightly the title "Princess of All that Twinkles and Glows." But then, Lily's horn starts to glow brightly. She feels embarrassed and runs away, confusing some ponies. Meanwhile, Pinkie Pie and Minty are flying to Unicornia by balloon. Minty says she forgot the map but doesn't need it.

Back in Unicornia, Lily Lightly is upset because everyone ran away when her horn glowed. Pinkie Pie and Minty get lost in the clouds. Minty says they need to see Unicornia's bright lights to find their way. On the ground, Brights Brightly and Rarity go looking for Lily Lightly outside Unicornia.

Two Ponies for the Sky

The second story, Two for the Sky, is told by Storybelle. Pinkie Pie, Minty, and Sunny Daze visit Storybelle's house to hear a tale. Storybelle chooses her favorite story, "Two for the Sky." It's about two ponies, Star Flight and Heart Bright, who are very close friends. They are almost like twins.

Storybelle explains that they always play together and eat sundaes together. They both wished they could grow wings and fly to the sky. They tried many times to fly, but they couldn't lift off the ground. So, they asked the Breezies in Breezy Blossom how they fly. The Breezies said they just fly naturally, without knowing why or how.

When Star Flight and Heart Bright returned to Ponyville, they went to sleep. They both wished they would dream of flying. When they woke up, they had wings! They flew into the sky, but they soon learned that flying wasn't as easy as it looked.

Pinkie Pie's Surprise Party

The third and last story is Positively Pink. It focuses on Pinkie Pie, Minty, and Puzzlemint. Minty looks at the Birthday Book and discovers it's Pinkie Pie's birthday! Everyone meets at Sweetberry's Sweet Shoppe. They decide to plan a surprise party for Pinkie Pie. Their idea is to make everything pink!

When Pinkie Pie enters the shop, everyone stays quiet about the party. They all leave the shop. Feeling confused, Pinkie Pie asks Sweetberry what's happening. Sweetberry only tells her to ask Puzzlemint to "solve some kind of puzzle." While everyone in Ponyville gets ready for the surprise party, Puzzlemint steps in. She distracts Pinkie Pie with a scavenger hunt so the party preparations can continue.

Meet the Characters

Here are some of the new and important characters from My Little Pony: A Very Pony Place:

Lily Lightly
Voiced by: Erin Mathews
Lily Lightly is the main character of Come Back, Lily Lightly. She is a unicorn pony with a light purple body. Her mane is light pink, pink, and purple, and her tail is pink and blue. Her special mark, called a cutie mark, is a pink lily flower on a blue stem with small stars. Lily is known as the "Princess of All that Twinkles and Glows." Her horn glows when she is happy or sad. Even though Lily finds her ability a bit strange, her friends think it makes her special.
Storybelle
Voiced by: Kelly Metzger
Storybelle is the pony who tells the story Two for the Sky. She is an earth pony with a pink body. Her mane is yellow, pink, purple, and blue, and her tail is blue. Her cutie mark is a windmill with a rainbow and a book. Storybelle is the leader of the Story Club. She is known as a very good storyteller. She is often seen with her assistant, Gossamer. She tells Minty, Sunny Daze, and Pinkie Pie the tale of Star Flight and Heart Bright.
Star Flight
Voiced by: Anna Cummer
Star Flight is one of the two main characters in Storybelle's story Two for the Sky. She is an earth pony with a pink body. Her mane and tail are dark pink and blue.
