Cathy Weseluck is a talented Canadian actress and comedian. She is famous for her voice work in many popular cartoons and anime shows. You might know her as Near from Death Note, Cybersix from Cybersix, or especially as Spike in My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. She often works with a company called Ocean Productions in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Her Amazing Career
Starting in Radio
Before she became a voice actress, Cathy worked at CBC Radio. She was an associate producer there. One of the hosts encouraged her to try voice acting. Her very first voice job was for a radio ad for the Vancouver Centre Mall.
Becoming a Voice Actor
Cathy Weseluck has lent her voice to many cartoon and anime series. She voiced Mirai Yashima in Mobile Suit Gundam. She was also Dorothy Catalonia and Catherine Bloom in Gundam Wing. Kids often recognize her as Near in Death Note. She also played Cybersix in Cybersix.
Other famous roles include Shampoo in Ranma 1⁄2. She was Kagome's mother in Inuyasha. In Dragon Ball Z, she voiced Kid Trunks, Chiaotzu, and Puar. A big role for her is Spike in My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. She also voices many other characters in that show.
Directing and Teaching
Besides acting, Cathy is also a voice director and a teacher. She helped direct the singing for My Little Pony Tales. She also worked as a casting coordinator for Animated Classic Showcase. She directed voices for the English version of Spiff and Hercules. She helped cast actors for The Authentic Adventures of Professor Thompson. She also directed the dubbing for Billy the Cat.
