Class of the Titans is a Canadian animated TV show. It was made by Studio B Productions and Nelvana Limited. The show first aired on December 31, 2005, on Teletoon. In the United States, it was shown on Qubo starting in 2009.

The series was also released on DVD. The first three episodes came out in 2008. Later, a full set of the first 13 episodes was released. You can also find the show on streaming services like Amazon Prime. Some episodes are even on YouTube.

What the Show is About

This exciting show is about seven teenagers who become heroes! A powerful villain named Cronus escapes from his ancient prison. He was locked away for thousands of years. This happened when the planets lined up on New Year's Eve.

An old prophecy says that these seven teens will defeat Cronus. Their names are Jay, Atlanta, Herry, Archie, Theresa, Odie, and Neil. They are the only ones who can stop Cronus for good. All the characters are based on famous figures from Ancient Greece.

Meet the Heroes

The Main Heroes

  • Jay (voiced by Kirby Morrow) – Jay is "The Leader" of the group. He is 16 years old and a descendant of Jason from the Argonauts. Jay is serious about being a hero. He uses a sword called a xiphos. He grew up knowing many Greek myths. Jay often explains these myths to his friends. He cares a lot about his team. His mentor is Hera, the queen of the gods.
  • Atlanta (voiced by Meghan Black and Sarah Edmondson) – Atlanta is "The Hunter." She is 15 and a descendant of Atalanta. Atlanta grew up in the wilderness. She is great at tracking and using weapons. She uses bolas or a crossbow. Atlanta is quick to act and sometimes short-tempered. She loves nature and plays field hockey. Her mentor is Artemis, the goddess of the hunt.
  • Herry (voiced by Ty Olsson) – Herry is "The Brawn." He is 16 and a descendant of Hercules. Herry has amazing superhuman strength. He usually doesn't need a weapon. Herry is easy-going but can get angry. He loves food and his grandmother, "Granny." His mentor is Hercules himself. Herry drives a special pickup truck. It was upgraded by Hephaestus.
  • Archie (voiced by Sam Vincent) – Archie is "The Warrior." He is 15 and a descendant of Achilles. Archie is super agile and fast. He uses a special whip made by Hephaestus. Unlike his ancestor, Archie has a brace on his leg. He knows a lot about Greek mythology. Archie can be a bit show-offy but is also cynical. He has a fear of water. His mentor is Ares, the god of war.
  • Odie (voiced by Doron Bell Jr.) – Odie is "The Brains." He is 16 and a descendant of Odysseus. Odie is super intelligent and great with electronics. He is the team's planner. He uses a special laptop given by Hermes. Odie is of African descent. He wears green glasses and loves video games. He has claustrophobia, a fear of small spaces. His mentor is Hermes, the messenger god.
  • Neil (voiced by Ted Cole) – Neil is "The Good Looking." He is 16 and a descendant of Narcissus. Neil is very handsome and works as a model. He is a bit spoiled and obsessed with his looks. He always carries a special mirror. Neil is very lucky, which helps him in battles. He gets scared easily and hates getting dirty. Despite his self-centered ways, he cares for his friends. His mentor is Aphrodite, the goddess of love.
  • Cronus (voiced by David Kaye) – Cronus is the main bad guy. He is the king of the Titans and the god of time. Cronus was imprisoned in Tartarus by his sons. He wants revenge on Zeus and the other gods. Cronus has many powers, like shapeshifting and controlling time. He uses two golden scythes.

Supporting Characters

  • Chiron (voiced by Bruce Greenwood and Richard Newman) – A wise centaur. He knows a lot about Greek mythology. Chiron helps the heroes with information and takes care of them.
  • Granny (voiced by Peter Kelamis) – Herry's grandmother. She seems frail but is full of energy. She knows about the heroes and even Zeus.
  • The Oracle (voiced by Brian Drummond) – An old man who can see the future. He helps the heroes by giving them clues.

Greek Gods

The heroes get help and guidance from many Greek gods:

  • Aphrodite (voiced by Tabitha St. Germain) – Neil's mentor. She is the goddess of love and beauty. She loves good-looking people and herself.
  • Apollo (voiced by Trevor Devall) – The god of the sun. He is Artemis's twin brother.
  • Ares (voiced by Garry Chalk) – Archie's mentor. He is the god of war. Ares trains the kids in fighting and weapons.
  • Artemis (voiced by Patricia Drake) – Atlanta's mentor. She is the goddess of the hunt and wild animals. She is a skilled archer.
  • Athena (voiced by Kathleen Barr) – The goddess of war and wisdom. She is also a good cook and weaver.
  • Hades (voiced by Trevor Devall) – The god of the underworld. He is friendly and has a good relationship with his wife, Persephone.
  • Hephaestus (voiced by Brian Drummond) – The blacksmith of the gods. He makes vehicles and weapons for the heroes. He is the god of fire and craftsmanship.
  • Hera (voiced by Patricia Drake) – Jay's mentor and the queen of the gods. She is stern and acts as the principal of Olympus High.
  • Hercules (voiced by Garry Chalk) – Herry's mentor. He is the gatekeeper of Olympus. He is still super strong despite his appearance.
  • Hermes (voiced by Brian Drummond) – Odie's mentor. He is the messenger of the gods. Hermes is in charge of communications. He is a clever inventor.
  • Persephone (voiced by Tabitha St. Germain) – Theresa's mentor. She is the queen of the underworld. She has two different moods. She loves gardening.
  • Poseidon (voiced by French Tickner) – The god of the sea. He controls water with his trident.
  • Zeus (voiced by Christopher Gaze) – The king of the gods and god of thunder. He is Hera's husband. He can be a bit grumpy.

Monsters and Creatures

The heroes face many monsters from Greek myths:

  • Campe – The jailer of Tartarus. She has a snake body and a scorpion on her back.
  • Cerberus – A three-headed dog that guards the entrance to the underworld.
  • Chimera – A monster with parts of a lion, goat, and snake.
  • Giants – Cronus's strong but not-so-smart helpers.
  • Gorgon – Ugly women with snakes for hair. They can turn people to stone.
  • Kraken – A giant merman awakened by Cronus.
  • Manticore – A lion-like creature with wings and a scorpion tail. It shoots poisonous spikes.
  • Minotaur – A creature with a bull's head and a man's body.
  • Sphinx – A creature with a lion's body, wings, and a human face. She asks riddles and eats those who fail.
  • Telkhines – Dog-faced sea monsters who are skilled blacksmiths.
  • Typhoeus – A large, powerful creature freed by Cronus.

Important Places

  • The Brownstone – This is where the heroes live. Each hero has a room that fits their personality. The building is protected from Cronus.
  • Crete – A volcanic island where Hephaestus had a workshop.
  • Greece – The home country of the original Titans. The new heroes visit it sometimes.
  • New Olympia – The fictional city where the heroes are called. The Greek gods moved here to be safe from Cronus. It is likely in Canada.
  • Olympus High School – The high school the heroes attend. It looks like a Greek building. The Greek gods live in a secret part of the school. This hidden area has training rooms and weapon stores. It is protected from Cronus.
  • The Underworld – The realm of the dead, ruled by Hades and Persephone. It has different areas like Tartarus (where Cronus was imprisoned) and Elysium (for heroes).
