Myra Frances was a British actress. She was born Myra Frances Piddock on April 13, 1942. She passed away on March 30, 2021. Many people knew her from popular TV shows. These included the drama series Survivors and the science fiction show Doctor Who.

Acting Career

Myra Frances was well-known for her acting roles. She played Anne Tranter in the 1970s TV show Survivors. She also appeared in a 1979 Doctor Who story. In that episode, called The Creature from the Pit, she played a bad character named Lady Adrasta.

She also acted in several comedy films during the 1970s. One of these was Don't Just Lie There, Say Something! (1974). In this movie, she played Jean Fenton. She had taken over this role from another actress in the stage play in 1972.

In the 1982 film Remembrance, Myra Frances played a schoolteacher. This movie was about a group of sailors. They were from the Royal Navy and were going on a long trip. The film showed their last night out before they sailed.

Myra Frances also appeared in other TV shows. She was James Hadleigh's girlfriend, Stella Clisby, in the fourth series of Hadleigh. In 1976, she played a lawyer named Valerie Scott. This was in several episodes of the show Crown Court.

Myra Frances later stopped acting. From 1991 to 1993, she worked as a director. She directed several plays at the Mill theatre in Sonning, Berkshire.

Myra Frances was also a strong supporter of animal rights. She worked as an ambassador for a group called Saving Suffering Strays. She also actively supported the Animals Asia Foundation. This foundation helps animals in need.
