Baroness Myriam Ullens de Schooten Whettnall (born September 23, 1952 – died March 29, 2023) was a Belgian businesswoman. She was known for her work in art, fashion, and helping others (philanthropy).

Early Life and Learning
Myriam Ullens was born Myriam Lechien in Cologne, Germany. She spent her childhood in Germany. Her father was an officer in the Belgian army. When she was five, she moved to a boarding school in Belgium. She studied in Namur and later in Liège.
Starting Businesses
When she was 24, Myriam Ullens started her first business. It was called "La Petite Salade." This was a service that delivered salads. She sold this business four years later.
Right after that, she opened a professional pastry shop. It was named "Sweetly" and was located in Brussels.
In 1991, she met Baron Guy Ullens. He was a Belgian businessman and would become her husband. Soon after, she sold Sweetly. She then focused her time on non-profit organizations.
Helping Others: Foundations
Myriam Ullens created several foundations. These groups aimed to help people and support art.
Helping Children Learn
Ullens built places to help children in Nepal who were in need. This included two orphanages. These orphanages focused on helping children who did not have enough food.
She and her husband, Guy Ullens, founded the Ullens School in Lalitpur. This was the first school in Nepal to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. This program is a special way of learning for older students. It is recognized all over the world.
Mimi Ullens Foundation
Myriam Ullens survived breast cancer. After this experience, she saw that patients needed help with their feelings and bodies. This was important while they were getting treatment in hospitals.
In 2006, she started the Mimi Ullens Foundation. This foundation supports seven centers. These centers are located inside hospitals where cancer is treated (oncology departments). They offer emotional support to about 15,000 cancer patients.
Supporting Art
The Ullens Center for Contemporary Art (UCCA) is an art center in Beijing. It is independent and does not aim to make a profit. Guy and Myriam Ullens founded it in November 2007. It serves people in Beijing and around the world.
On February 11, 2017, the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art won an award. It received the 2016 Global Fine Art Award for a special art show. The show was called “Rauschenberg in China.”
Ullens was also on the board of The Royal Drawing School. This school was started by the Prince of Wales. It provides drawing classes for adults and children of all ages and skill levels.
Maison Ullens: Fashion
In 2009, Myriam Ullens started her own fashion brand. It was named fr:Maison Ullens.
Storyteller
Myriam Ullens published her first book in February 2017. It was a novel called "Distant Starless Nights."
Personal Life
Myriam Ullens married Baron Guy Ullens de Schooten Whettnall in 1999. She had two children from a previous marriage.
She passed away on March 29, 2023.
