Núria Pradas i Andreu (born 1 September 1954) is a Spanish writer from Catalonia. She is also a philologist, which means she studies languages and literature. Núria Pradas started her writing journey by creating books for children and young adults. Over time, she has written many stories for both young readers and grown-ups.

About Núria Pradas
Núria Pradas i Andreu was born in Barcelona, Spain, on September 1, 1954. She grew up in a neighborhood called El Poblenou. Because she loved reading so much, she decided to study Catalan Philology at the University of Barcelona. She finished her studies in 1980.
Early Career and Theatre
Right after graduating, Núria Pradas began working as a teacher. She taught Catalan Language and Literature. For a long time, she lived in Sant Feliu de Llobregat. This is where she first got involved in amateur theatre. She joined a theatre group called Enric Borràs . This experience helped her later direct theatre groups for young people. She also started writing her own plays. She even worked with the Borràs group in another theatre company called L'Ull de Bou.
Becoming a Published Author
After her time in theatre, Núria Pradas started writing stories. In 1995, she published her very first book, Sol d'hivern. This book marked the beginning of her career in writing for children and young adults.
In 2012, she won an important award called the Premi Carlemany
for her book Sota el mateix cel. Two years later, in 2014, she published her first novel for adults, La Noia de la Biblioteca. She then wrote Somnis a mida in 2016, which became very popular and was translated into more than ten languages. Another adult novel, L'aroma del temps, followed in 2018.In 2020, Núria Pradas won the prestigious Ramon Llull Novel Award. She received it for her novel Tota una vida per recordar. This story is set in the United States during the 1930s and explores the world of cartoons. Some of her recent books for young people include Ella (2020) and El cant del cigne (2022). Her latest novel for adults is La vida secreta de la Sylvia Nolan, published in 2022.
