Nadia Fanchini is a famous alpine ski racer from Italy. She was born on June 25, 1986, in Lovere. Nadia grew up in Val Camonica. Her sisters, Elena and Sabrina Fanchini, were also amazing skiers on the Italian World Cup team!

Nadia Fanchini's Ski Career
Nadia Fanchini was a top alpine ski racer for Italy. She competed in many big events. These included the Winter Olympics and the World Championships.
World Championship Success
Nadia won two medals at the World Championships. She earned a bronze medal in the downhill race in 2009. This race took place in Val d'Isère, France. Later, in 2013, she won a silver medal. This was also in the downhill event, held in Schladming, Austria.
Overcoming Injuries
Ski racing can be tough on the body. Nadia faced some challenges with injuries during her career. In 2010, just before the Winter Olympics, she hurt both her knees during a Super-G race. This injury meant she could not compete in the Olympics that year. She also missed the entire 2011 ski season while she recovered. Despite these setbacks, Nadia worked hard to come back and continued to compete at a high level.
World Cup Achievements
The FIS Alpine Ski World Cup is a series of races held throughout the ski season. Nadia Fanchini had a very successful career in the World Cup.
World Cup Wins and Podiums
Nadia won two World Cup races during her career. She won one Super-G race and one Downhill race. She also finished on the podium (meaning she placed in the top three) 13 times! This included 8 times in Downhill, 4 times in Super-G, and 1 time in Giant slalom. Her best overall ranking in the World Cup was 9th place in 2009.
Olympic Games Participation
Nadia Fanchini represented Italy in three Winter Olympic Games. She competed in 2006, 2014, and 2018.
- In the 2006 Winter Olympics, she placed 8th in the Giant Slalom and 10th in the Downhill.
- She was unable to compete in the 2010 Winter Olympics due to an injury.
- At the 2014 Winter Olympics, she achieved her best Olympic result, finishing 4th in the Giant Slalom. She also placed 10th in the Super-G.
