Nadia Toffa (born June 10, 1979 – died August 13, 2019) was a well-known Italian journalist and TV presenter. She became famous for her work on the TV show Le Iene, a program that looked at current events in a funny and serious way. Nadia gained a lot of attention in 2017 for her reports about how certain activities might affect the environment.

Her Early Career
Nadia Toffa studied Literature at the University of Florence. After finishing her studies, she started her TV career at age 23. Her first job was at a local TV channel called Telesanterno in the Emilia-Romagna region. From 2005 to 2009, she worked for Retebrescia, another local channel in her hometown of Brescia.
Reporting for Le Iene
In 2009, when Nadia was 30, she joined the popular TV show Le Iene as a reporter. She created many important stories for the program.
Some of her most famous reports included:
- Looking into possible scams by pharmacies.
- Investigating the spread of slot machine arcades.
- Reporting on illegal waste disposal, which harmed the environment.
- Showing how cancer rates were rising in certain areas due to pollution.
- Investigating environmental issues in Crotone.
On November 21, 2017, Nadia presented a report about a nuclear experiment at the Gran Sasso Laboratory. She suggested it might be dangerous and kept secret. However, experts later said her report was not based on strong evidence.
Nadia was very popular and respected. In 2015, she won the Ischia International Journalism Award for "Special Prize – Television Presenter of the Year." In 2017, her name was one of the most searched on Google around the world.
Sometimes, Nadia faced challenges with fake news. In 2018, false stories about her death appeared online, but she quickly said they were not true. She also found out that her image was used in fake ads. These ads showed fake interviews and videos of her promoting a weight loss drink. This was an example of false advertising, where her image was used without her permission.
Her Health Journey
On December 2, 2017, Nadia Toffa felt unwell while working in Trieste. This caused her to take a break from her job. On February 11, 2018, Nadia bravely shared that she was fighting a tumour.
Sadly, on August 13, 2019, Nadia passed away at the age of 40. She died from brain cancer in her hometown of Brescia. She had been in the hospital since early July as her health got worse. Nadia Toffa is remembered for her courage, her important journalism, and her dedication to telling stories that mattered.
