Nadia Zyncenko was born on April 1, 1948, in Italy. She is a well-known Argentine weather forecaster and meteorologist. This means she studies the weather and helps predict it. Nadia has Ukrainian family roots.

Nadia's Early Life

Nadia Zyncenko's parents were Vladímir Zyncenko and María Petrenko. Her father was a Ukrainian soldier in World War II. After the war, her parents met in Rome. They moved to Bagnoli, a village near Naples, Italy, where Nadia was born.

When Nadia was just a baby, her family moved to Argentina. They were looking for a better life. Nadia grew up speaking Ukrainian at home and Spanish at school. This made it a bit tricky for her to get used to speaking in Argentina.

She grew up with her parents in a countryside area called Pilar, in Buenos Aires Province. This was about 40 kilometers from the city of Buenos Aires. Her two brothers, Pablo and Pedro, were born there.

Nadia shared that her father, who was a soldier, spent a lot of time watching the sky. He was looking for planes and bombs during the war. When he came to Argentina, he kept watching the sky. But this time, he was trying to guess what the weather would be like. He even helped local dairy farmers predict the weather.

Nadia's Career in Meteorology

Nadia Zyncenko studied at the University of Buenos Aires. She joined the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences. There, she received a scholarship from the National Meteorological Service. This was a government agency that worked with the Argentine Air Force at the time. Nadia is also an active member of a group for weather presenters from around the world.

In 1980, Nadia started working as a substitute weather presenter. She worked at Televisión Pública Argentina (Canal 7), which is the state television station. Later, she got a full-time job at Canal 11 in Buenos Aires, which is now called Telefe.

In 1992, she returned to the state channel as "the weather woman" permanently. She appeared on TV from Monday to Friday, at noon and in the evening. She also worked on Sundays. At the same time, she kept her job at the National Meteorological Service. She even held a position as "chief of aeronautical meteorology" at Jorge Newbery airport. She continued this until 2010.

On June 4, 2012, Nadia started her own TV show. It was a half-hour program called Nadia 6:30 on Televisión Pública Argentina.

In 2014, Nadia received a special award for her long career. This was at the Martín Fierro Awards.

Nadia left Televisión Pública on February 6, 2018. This happened because she was 69 years old, which was past the usual retirement age. However, just two days later, on February 8, 2018, the government changed the rules. They extended the retirement age to 70 for both men and women.
