The Club's Journey in Shinty
Nairnshire Camanachd was a new team. They joined the Marine Harvest North Division Three league in their first year. This was a big step for them.
A Great Start
The club quickly made a name for itself. In April 2006, the Camanachd Association gave them a special award. This association is in charge of shinty in Scotland. Nairnshire Camanachd was named "Club of The Month." This was a huge honor for such a new team. They were chosen over many older, more experienced clubs.
Close Call for the League Title
Nairnshire Camanachd almost won their league. They were leading the North Division Three for most of the season. But in the end, they just missed out. Another team, Lochaber Camanachd, played very well at the end. They also won some games because other teams didn't show up to play. This helped Lochaber Camanachd move ahead of Nairnshire.
Focusing on Young Players
After their first season, the club decided to stop playing in the main league. They wanted to focus on something very important. Their goal was to help young people in Nairn learn and play shinty. They hoped to build a strong future for the sport. However, by 2011, the club had completely stopped operating.
