Nana Akua was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, on 19 July 1971. Her parents were immigrants from Ghana. When she was 11 years old, her family moved to the United States. However, Nana Akua stayed in the UK. She attended a girls' boarding school during the school year. Later, she went to university. There, she studied business and finance.

Television and Radio Career

Nana Akua has had a long career in broadcasting. She worked for several radio stations. These included Kiss 100, Capital Radio, and BBC Three Counties Radio. She also worked for the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital radio station.

On television, Nana Akua was a presenter for shopping channels like Bid-Up.TV and Price Drop. She then joined the BBC. For the BBC, she presented shows such as Look East and Holiday. She also appeared on other popular TV programmes. These included Good Morning Britain on ITV. She was also a guest on Jeremy Vine on Channel 5. Nana Akua also contributed to a Panorama programme. This episode focused on mortgage scammers. Later, she became a continuity announcer for the BBC. She currently presents Tonight Live with Nana Akua on GB News.

In December 2023, Nana Akua received a special nomination. She was nominated for a Charles Gordon Trust Award. This award was for Best Presenter.
