The Family Imprint Book
Nancy Borowick started her project The Family Imprint while she was studying at the International Center of Photography. She began taking pictures of her mother, who had stage-four cancer. The photos in the book show her parents at different times. They capture moments of joy, sadness, and even Nancy's own wedding. The book also includes pictures from her parents' funerals.
It was hard to find publishers who wanted to print the book. Many thought the topic was too sad. To show that people would be interested, Nancy started a Kickstarter campaign. This campaign raised over $65,000. This money helped her print and share the book. The Family Imprint was finally published in 2017.
