The name "Narbo" came from one of the French investors. His name was Narbonne. Narbo is actually the Latin name for the city of Narbonne, which is in France.

A Short-Lived Town

Narbo had its own post office for a short time. It opened in 1884 but closed just three years later, in 1887. This shows that the town did not last very long.
