Natasha Monique Hastings (born July 23, 1986) is a famous American track and field athlete. She is known for her amazing speed in the 400-meter race. Natasha has won many gold medals, including at the Olympic Games and World Championships. She is often called "the 400M Diva" because of her strong performances on the track.

Natasha Hastings' Running Journey
Natasha started her running career when she was very young. She won first place in the USATF Junior Olympics for the 400 meters. This was in the Youth Girls division.
She went to A. Philip Randolph Campus High School in Harlem, New York. There, she took her love for track and field to a higher level.
College and "The 400M Diva"
Natasha attended the University of South Carolina. She trained under coach Curtis Frye. At college, she became known as "the 400M Diva." This nickname came about when she called her team the "Gamecock Divas." The Gamecock is the school's mascot.
After an injury, 2007 became a very important year for Natasha. She won the 400-meter race at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational. Her time was 51.70 seconds, which was her best time then. She also helped her team win the 4 × 400-meter relay. This was the fastest college time that year.
In 2007, she also won the SEC Championships. Her time was 50.84 seconds. Natasha then won the NCAA Championship title. Her 400-meter time of 50.15 seconds was the second fastest ever in college. She was undefeated all season, winning both Indoor and Outdoor 400-meter championships.
Olympic and World Championship Success
In 2008, when she was 22, Natasha joined the USA Olympic Track and Field Team. She won an Olympic Gold Medal in the Women's 4 × 400-meter relay. She ran her part of the race in 49.97 seconds during the heat. The team won their heat in 3:22.45. The team included Mary Wineberg, Monique Henderson, Natasha, and Sanya Richards-Ross.
In the final race, Allyson Felix ran instead of Natasha. The U.S. team still won gold in 3:18.54. Athletes who run in the heats for medal-winning teams also receive a medal.
In 2013, Natasha won the USATF 400 meters outdoor title. Her time was 49.94 seconds. This allowed her to join the US team for the 2013 World Championships in Athletics in Moscow. She finished fourth in that championship.
In 2015, Natasha also made the US team for the 2015 World Championships in Athletics in Beijing. She finished fifth in her semifinal race and did not reach the final. However, she was part of the 4 × 400-meter women's team. They won a silver medal by finishing second.
In 2016, Natasha qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics. She finished third in the US trials with a time of 50.17 seconds in the 400 meters. In Rio, Natasha finished fourth in the 400-meter final. Her time was 50.34 seconds.
Later in 2016, at the Great North City Games in the UK, Natasha ran a personal best in a 150-meter race. She finished second with a time of 16.67 seconds.
In 2017, Natasha won the 400 meters at the Golden Gala meet in Rome. Her time was 50.52 seconds. She also ran her season's best time of 50.14 seconds in the 400 meters at the 2017 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. She finished fourth there.
Natasha's Life Outside the Track
Natasha has a YouTube channel. On her channel, she shares videos about her races, workouts, and how she gets ready. She also has a video series called "Tea Time." In these videos, she talks about different topics. She often chats with friends and other athletes like Michelle Carter.
Natasha has a son with former NFL player William Gay.
Family Connections
Natasha is the cousin of Shaka Hislop, a former goalkeeper for the Trinidad and Tobago national football team. Shaka's brother, Kona Hislop, is also her cousin.
Her mother, Joanne, was a top junior sprinter in the United Kingdom. She moved to the USA before Natasha was born.
