Nathalie Wahl (born in 1976) is a smart Belgian mathematician. She studies a special area of math called topology. This field looks at the shapes and spaces of things. She is a professor at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark. There, she leads a group called the Copenhagen Center for Geometry and Topology.
Learning and Her Job
Nathalie Wahl was born in Brussels, Belgium. She earned her first math degree in 1998 from the Université libre de Bruxelles. Her main project was about something called "infinite antimatroids." She even published her work in a science paper in 2001.
Later, she went to the University of Oxford in England. In 2001, she got her Ph.D. (a very high degree) in algebraic topology. Her Ph.D. project was about "Ribbon Graphs."
After finishing her studies, Nathalie worked at a few different universities for short times. These included Northwestern University and the University of Chicago in the US, and Aarhus University in Denmark. In 2006, she joined the math department at the University of Copenhagen. She worked hard and became a full professor there in 2010. In 2020, she became the leader of the Copenhagen Center for Geometry and Topology.

- In 2008, she won the Young Elite Researcher Award. This award comes from a group in Denmark that supports new research.
