The National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame is a special museum and learning center. It is located in Bonner Springs, Kansas, in the United States. This center is officially recognized by the U.S. government. It helps people learn about farming and the history of agriculture.

You can find the center east of K-7 and south of State Avenue. It is also near the Sandstone Amphitheater and the Kansas City Renaissance Festival. The museum is about one mile (1.6 km) west of the Kansas Speedway.

Exploring the Center

The National Agricultural Center has several cool parts to explore. Each part helps you learn about different aspects of farming and rural life.

The Main Building

The Main Building was built in 1963-1964. It holds many interesting exhibits and halls. Here are some of the things you can see inside:

Museum of Farming

This large building opened in 1967. It is about 20,400 square feet (1,895 square meters) in size. The Museum of Farming holds many of the center's 30,000 artifacts. You can see a huge collection of old farm tools and machines here.

Farm Town, U.S.A.

Farm Town, U.S.A. is a fun recreation of an old rural village. It opened in 1968. You can walk through and see what a farm town used to look like. Here are some of the buildings and attractions:

  • Blacksmith Shop: Where a blacksmith would make and fix metal tools.
  • School House: A classroom from the past.
  • General Store: Like an old-fashioned grocery and supply store.
  • Poultry Hatchery: Where baby chicks would hatch.
  • Railroad Depot: An old train station.
  • Union Pacific Caboose: A train car where the crew used to ride.
  • Operational narrow-gauge train: A small, working train you can ride.
  • Farm House: A typical home on a farm.
  • Farm Shed: A building for storing tools and equipment.
  • Chicken Coop: Where chickens live.
  • Eight-sided Wooden Silo: A tall structure for storing grain.
  • 75-seat outdoor Pavilion: A covered area for events.
  • Smith Event Barn: Another space for special events.
