Gragg Field Historic District

Gragg Field was built in 1937. It was part of a big government program called the New Deal. This program helped people find jobs during a tough time in history. The airport was built by the Works Progress Administration (WPA).

In 1948, something really cool happened. The airport got a hangar that used to hold planes for the famous "Tuskegee Airmen". These brave pilots were African American and flew for the United States Army Air Corps during World War II.

Verbena Historic District

The town of Verbena became a popular summer getaway in the 1870s. People from Montgomery would come here to escape outbreaks of yellow fever. This was a serious illness that was more common in cities back then.

Walker–Klinner Farm

The Walker–Klinner Farm has a history going back to the 1850s. The main house was built in 1890 by the Walker family. It's a two-story home built in a style called "Eastlake". This style is known for its decorative wooden details.

The house is the center of a very large farm, which was once about 1,600 acres. The Klinner family owns the property today. It's a great example of a historic farm from that time period.
