The Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad Passenger and Baggage Depots in Mount Sterling is an old train station. Imagine people waiting here to catch a train to another city! It was added to the list in 1991.
Historic Churches
Two churches in Mount Sterling are on the list:
- The Church of the Ascension is a beautiful old church located at High and Broadway Streets. It was recognized in 1979.
- The KEAS Tabernacle Christian Methodist Episcopal Church is another important church building. It's at 101 South Queen Street and was added to the list in 1983.

Ancient Mounds
Montgomery County is home to some very old sites built by early people.
- The Gaitskill Mound Archeological Site is an ancient mound located off Indian Mound Drive. It was listed in 1975. Archeological sites are places where scientists study human history by digging up artifacts.
- The Wright-Greene Mound Complex is another group of ancient mounds. Its exact location is kept secret to protect the site, but it was added to the list in 1998.

Machpelah Cemetery
