Nazan Öncel (born on February 6, 1956) is a talented singer and songwriter from Turkey. She is known for writing and arranging many of her own songs. She has also written popular songs for other famous singers like Tarkan and İbrahim Tatlıses.

Nazan Öncel's Musical Journey

Nazan Öncel started her music career in 1975. Her unique voice first caught attention in 1978. This was when her song "Sana Kul Köle Olmuştum" (which means "I Had Become Your Slave") was played on the radio and TV.

Early Albums and Big Hits

Her very first album, called Yağmur Duası (Prayer for Rain), came out in 1982. Then, in 1992, she released "Bir Hadise Var" ("There is an Issue"). This album was special because Nazan wrote all the songs herself!

Two years later, in 1994, she released Ben Böyle Aşk Görmedim (I Didn't See Love like This). This album included a very popular song and music video called "Geceler Kara Tren" ("The Nights are Dark Train").

Rock Sounds and More Success

In 1996, Nazan Öncel released her album "Sokak Kızı" ("Stray Girl"). This album had a stronger rock sound than her previous work. It featured several hit songs. These included "Erkekler de Yanar" ("The Men Are on the Hook, too"), "A Bu Hayat" ("This Life"), and "Bırak Seveyim Rahat Edeyim" (Let Me Love You and Have Peace). All these songs became popular with their music videos.

Nazan Öncel continued to create music. Her 7th studio album, 7'n Bitirdin, was released in 2006. This album had 12 new songs. A famous sound engineer named Miles Showell, who has worked with bands like Queen and singers like Elton John, helped with the final sound of the album in London.
