Needham is a small community located in Johnson County, Indiana. It is an unincorporated town, which means it's a settled place that doesn't have its own separate local government. Instead, it's part of a larger area called Needham Township.
A Look Back: Needham's History
Needham has an interesting past! This community was officially planned and mapped out in 1866. A person named Noah Needham was responsible for creating the town's layout.
The Post Office Story
When the town first started, it had a post office. It was called "Needhams Station." This post office opened in the same year the town was founded, 1866. Later, in 1882, its name was officially changed to simply "Needham."
