How Neier Got Its Name
Neier got its name from a person! A long time ago, in 1884, a post office was set up in the community. A post office is where people send and receive mail. The person who was in charge of this post office was named Peter Neier. It's very likely that the community was named after him. The Neier post office stayed open for about 25 years, closing its doors in 1909.
