Nejib Khattab (Arabic: نجيب الخطاب)) was a very popular Tunisian TV and radio presenter. He was born on May 24, 1953, and sadly passed away on April 25, 1998. He was known for his exciting shows and for helping many singers become famous.

Nejib's Amazing Career
Nejib Khattab started his career in sports. He worked on Tunisian radio and TV, where he would commentate on exciting football matches. He even covered the 1978 Football World Cup, talking about the Tunisian national team's games!
Becoming a Star Presenter
In the 1980s and 1990s, Nejib became super successful. He hosted many popular radio shows, like Alwan wa ajwaa and Yaoum said. He also produced and hosted big TV shows on Saturday nights and Sundays. Some of his famous TV shows included Khamsa ala khamsa, Laou samahtom, and Sahriya al fadhaeya.
People called him a pioneer because he was one of the first to do live variety shows on Arab TV. He helped many Arab singers become well-known to the Tunisian public. Some of these singers were Mayada Hennaoui, Assala Nasri, Georges Wassouf, and Kadhem Essaher. Because he helped so many artists, he earned the nickname "star producer."
His Famous Saying
Nejib Khattab was an orphan from a young age, and he was very close to his mother. He always started his shows with a special phrase: "Ma ridha allah ella bi ridha alwalidain." This means, "God's blessing is only with the blessing of parents." It showed how much he loved and respected his mother.
A Sudden Farewell
Nejib Khattab passed away suddenly from a heart attack. This happened on a day when he was supposed to host a show that evening. His death was a big shock to everyone in the Arab world and the Tunisian cultural community.
To honor his memory, on October 23, 2011, the Tunisian Television Establishment opened a new studio named after him.

Nejib Khattab was married to Amel. They had a daughter named Ahlem Nejib Khattab. Just like her father, Ahlem also became a journalist.
