A Look Back: Nenzingen's History
Nenzingen has a long and interesting history! The town was first mentioned in a very old paper from the year 839. In this document, it was called Nancingas. This paper came from the Reichenau Monastery, which was a very important religious center back then.
For a long time, Nenzingen was part of an area known as the County of Nellenburg. A "county" was like a region ruled by a powerful family called "counts." When the last counts of Nellenburg passed away in 1423, Nenzingen became part of Austria. This shows how towns and regions could change hands between different rulers many centuries ago.
