Nesim Tahirović (born October 23, 1941 – died August 14, 2020) was a talented Bosnian painter. He was known for his beautiful artworks. Nesim studied painting in Belgrade. His teacher was Professor Kosta Hakman.
Nesim Tahirović was not only a painter. He also worked in scenic design. This means he created the backgrounds and props for plays or shows. He also worked in other applied arts. These are arts that have a practical use.
A Long Career in Art
Nesim was an artist for 45 years. During this time, he had many art shows. He held about sixty solo exhibitions. This means his art was the only art shown. He also took part in over a hundred group exhibitions. In these shows, his art was displayed with other artists' works.
His art was shown in his home country. It was also shown in many places around the world. Nesim won many awards for his paintings. He also won awards for his scenic designs. His paintings were displayed in museums and galleries. Many private collectors also bought his art.
Nesim was a member of two important art groups. These were The Association of Applied Artists and Designers of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ULUPUBiH) and Association of Visual Artists of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ULUBiH). He lived and worked in Tuzla. He was an independent artist, meaning he worked for himself.
Where His Art Was Shown
Nesim Tahirović had many solo art shows. These exhibitions took place in many different cities. He showed his art in Tuzla, Sarajevo, and Osijek in his home country.
His art also traveled to other countries. He had exhibitions in Trieste and Lignano in Italy. He also showed his work in Graz, Austria. In Poland, his art was seen in cities like Warszawa and Toruń. He also had many shows in Germany, including Ratingen, München, and Duisburg.
His last known solo exhibition was in Sarajevo in 2010.
