History of New Baden
New Baden was started in 1881 by people who moved there from Germany. These German immigrants helped build the community.
Just one year later, in 1882, New Baden got its own post office. Over time, the community grew bigger. It had important places like a drugstore, a hotel, a church, and even a railway station.
The most people living in New Baden at one time was 175, and that was in 1915. The number of people living there went down to 105 by 1970. However, the population grew again to 150 people by the year 2000.
