New Harmony is a small community located in Brown County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. It is known as an unincorporated community. This means it doesn't have its own separate local government, like a city or a town. Instead, it is managed by the larger county government.
A Look Back in Time
New Harmony was first planned and settled in the year 1847. During this time, many new communities were being formed across Ohio as people moved into the area. A post office was opened in New Harmony in 1851. This was an important place for people to send and receive letters and packages. The post office served the community for many years, until it closed down in 1907.
