New Hartford is a small, unincorporated community located in southern Pike County, Missouri, in the United States. An "unincorporated community" means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it's usually managed by the county.

History of New Hartford
New Hartford was officially planned and mapped out in 1871. This process is called "platting," which means creating a detailed map showing streets, lots, and public areas. The community got its name from Hartford Township, the area it is located within.
A post office was opened in New Hartford in 1871, the same year the community was platted. This post office served the local residents for many years, helping them send and receive mail. It stayed in operation for a long time, finally closing its doors in 1997.
