Bowling Green is a city in Pike County, Missouri, United States. It is also the county seat, which means it's where the county government offices are located. In 2010, about 5,334 people lived there.

History of Bowling Green
Bowling Green was first settled in 1819. It became the county seat in 1824. Many of the first settlers came from Kentucky and Virginia. The city was named after Bowling Green, Kentucky.
A historic building, the James Beauchamp Clark House, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. This list includes important places in American history.
Geography and Location
Bowling Green is located where two major highways meet: US 54 and US 61.
- US 54 connects Bowling Green to Illinois in the east. It also goes to Jefferson City and the Lake of the Ozarks to the south and west.
- US 61 links the city to Hannibal in the north. It also connects to the St. Louis area in the south.
The city covers a total area of about 2.70 square miles (7.00 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with a very small part being water.

- Cotton Fitzsimmons: A famous NBA basketball coach. He won 832 games in the NBA. He was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2021. He graduated from Bowling Green High School in 1949.
