New Hope is found in the eastern part of Lowndes County. It is about 8 miles (13 km) southeast of Columbus, which is the main city of the county. The community is also just 3 miles (5 km) west of the Alabama state line.

  • The Trojan baseball team has won five state championships. One year, they had a perfect season, winning all 43 of their games!
  • The school also won a Class 4A Golf Championship.
  • In 2008, the Boy's Class 4A Basketball Championship was won by New Hope High School.
