New Hope, Missouri facts for kids
New Hope is a small place in Lincoln County, Missouri, in the United States. It's called an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and buildings that doesn't have its own local government, like a city or town does. Instead, it's managed by the county government.
History of New Hope
New Hope was officially planned out in 1837. When a place is "platted," it means someone drew up a map showing where streets, lots, and public areas would be. This helps organize how the community will grow.
Also in 1837, a post office was opened in New Hope. Post offices were very important back then because they were the main way people sent and received letters and packages. This post office served the community for many years, finally closing down in 1908.
