About NYFTA
How it Started
The New York Food Truck Association was created in 2016 by Ben Goldberg. It works with food trucks all over New York City and the areas around it.
Fun Food Events
NYFTA helps organize and host exciting food festivals. For example, they held the NYC Food Truck Fest in April 2017. They also hosted similar events in April 2018 and April 2019. These festivals bring together many different food trucks for people to enjoy.
Helping the Community
In April 2017, NYFTA started a special project called Frontline Food Trucks. They worked with several food and drink companies to make this happen. The goal was to give free coffee, snacks, and meals to hospital workers and other essential staff. This happened during the time when New York City was dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Food trucks were parked outside hospitals like NYU Langone and Mount Sinai. This helped support the brave medical staff. It also helped local food truck businesses, many of which had to close down because of the pandemic.
