Newell Run, Ohio facts for kids
Newell Run is a small, quiet place in Washington County, Ohio. It's called an unincorporated community, which means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a city or town with its own local government. Instead, it's part of the larger county.
A Glimpse into Newell Run's Past
Newell Run has a bit of history, even though it's a small community. Back in 1866, a post office opened there. This was a really important place for people to send and receive letters and packages. The post office stayed open for many years, until 1914. Besides the post office, Newell Run also had a country store. These stores were often the heart of small communities, where people could buy everyday items and catch up with their neighbors.
