Newton is a small, quiet place in Grays Harbor County, located in the U.S. state of Washington. It is known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that don't have their own local government, like a city or town does. Instead, it's usually managed by the county government.
A Look Back: Newton's Early Days
The community of Newton got its name in 1906. A few years later, in 1908, a post office was opened there. This post office helped people send and receive letters and packages. It stayed open for about 11 years, closing down in 1919.
