Ngozi Province is one of the 18 main regions, called provinces, in the country of Burundi. It is located in the northern part of Burundi. The word Ngozi means blessing in the local language.
The main city and capital of this province is also called Ngozi. This city is the center for government and business in the area.
Geography and Size
Ngozi Province covers an area of about 1,473.86 square kilometers (about 569 square miles). This makes it one of the smaller provinces in Burundi.
In 2008, about 660,717 people lived in Ngozi Province. This means it is quite a busy place with many communities.
Local Government: Communes
Like other provinces in Burundi, Ngozi Province is divided into smaller areas called communes. Think of communes as local districts or towns that help manage the daily lives of people.
There are nine communes in Ngozi Province:

- Commune of Kiremba
- Commune of Marangara
- Commune of Mwumba
- Commune of Ngozi
