Nicholas D'Agosto (born April 17, 1980) is an American actor. He is well-known for his roles in movies like Final Destination 5 and TV shows such as Heroes, The Office, and Gotham.

About Nicholas D'Agosto

Nicholas D'Agosto was born in Omaha, Nebraska. His parents are Deanna Rae and Alan D'Agosto. His father owned several Arby's restaurants in Omaha. Nicholas has two older brothers, Andrew and Patrick, and two younger sisters, Julie and Katie.

Nicholas grew up in the Catholic faith. He even chose Genesius of Rome, who is known as the patron saint of actors, as his confirmation name. When he was very young, Nicholas thought about becoming a priest. But by age 10, he discovered his love for acting through improv comedy.

He was very active in drama and theater while growing up. He performed in many plays and musicals. He also took part in speech competitions in middle school. Nicholas finished high school at Creighton Preparatory School in 1998. He then went to Marquette University, graduating in 2002. He studied both history and theater, earning high honors.

Nicholas's Acting Journey

Nicholas D'Agosto got his first big acting job while still in high school. He played Larry Fouch in the movie Election (1999). The movie was directed by Alexander Payne, who also went to Nicholas's high school. While still in college, Nicholas appeared in the film Psycho Beach Party (2000). After college in 2002, he moved to Los Angeles to become a full-time actor.

Nicholas began getting guest roles on popular TV shows. These included Boston Public, ER, Six Feet Under, Cold Case, House, Supernatural, and Without a Trace. He also appeared in three episodes of The Office. A notable role was playing West Rosen in the TV series Heroes.

Movie and Theater Work

To get ready for his role in the movie Fired Up!, Nicholas spent three weeks at a cheerleading camp. He also worked with a professional choreographer. He starred in From Prada to Nada with Camilla Belle. This movie was inspired by Jane Austen's book Sense and Sensibility. In 2011, he played Sam Lawton in the horror film Final Destination 5.

In 2012, Nicholas performed on stage in the play You Can't Take It with You.

Later TV Appearances

In late 2014, Nicholas appeared on Grey's Anatomy as a surgical resident named Graham Maddox. He left the show in November 2014.

In October 2015, Nicholas was cast as Harvey Dent in the TV series Gotham. This was a recurring role in season one and a main role in season two.

In 2017, Nicholas took on the main role in the NBC comedy series Trial & Error. This show was a "mockumentary," meaning it was filmed like a documentary but was actually a comedy. The second season finished in August 2018.

More recently, in November 2022, Nicholas began a recurring role as Deputy Director Doug Bailey in Criminal Minds: Evolution.
