Nicholas D'Agosto was born in Omaha, Nebraska. His parents are Deanna Rae and Alan D'Agosto. His father owned several Arby's restaurants in Omaha. Nicholas has two older brothers, Andrew and Patrick, and two younger sisters, Julie and Katie.
Nicholas grew up in the Catholic faith. He even chose Genesius of Rome, who is known as the patron saint of actors, as his confirmation name. When he was very young, Nicholas thought about becoming a priest. But by age 10, he discovered his love for acting through improv comedy.
He was very active in drama and theater while growing up. He performed in many plays and musicals. He also took part in speech competitions in middle school. Nicholas finished high school at Creighton Preparatory School in 1998. He then went to Marquette University, graduating in 2002. He studied both history and theater, earning high honors.
