Nick Clemons' Life Story
Nick Clemons grew up in New Jersey. As a child, his family and friends called him "Nicky." Later, he started using "Nick," a shorter version of his middle name. He shares this name with his famous father and grandfather.
Nick did not start developing his musical skills until he was older. His father had hoped he would become a lawyer. But after performing a short acoustic set at a New Year's show for his dad, Nick decided to pursue music.
He later moved to Ocean City, Maryland. There, he worked on his music by playing local shows. He often performed with Joe Boris, a guitar player from the band One-Eyed Jack. They formed a band with Andre Cholomondeley on bass and Bob Ramos on drums.
Nick's early band toured along the East Coast and in California. For five years, Nick also worked with a cover band called Bare Wires. They opened shows for his father, Clarence Clemons. Bare Wires recorded songs with Nick, including "Downstream" and "No Worries." His dad, Clarence, played saxophone on some of these tracks.
The Nick Clemons Band
Nick's current band, The Nick Clemons Band, tours across North America. They play a unique mix of rock, jazz, and funk music. Nick says that getting a "warm feeling" or "electricity" from the crowd is very important to him. This feeling makes him want to give even more during his performances.
Other Interests
Besides music, Nick enjoys acting. He is also building a company to help other musicians. He produces events for charity, like the Annual Asbury Park Comedy Fest. Nick's main passion is raising his son. When he is not making music or memories with his son, Nick likes to play golf.
Musical Influences
Nick has learned from many talented songwriters and producers. These include Jordan De la Sierra and Narada Michael Walden. They have helped him develop his own musical style.
