The History of N-Toons
N-Toons had an interesting journey on French television. It started as a block of cartoons and later changed into a separate channel before returning as a block again.
Starting on Canal J
The original Nicktoons block began on Canal J on January 10, 2003. It was a way to introduce Nickelodeon's fun cartoons to kids in France. This block was very popular and helped build the Nickelodeon name there.
Becoming a Separate Channel
In 2005, Nickelodeon became so popular that it launched its own separate TV channel in France. This happened on November 7, 2005. When the new channel started, the old "Nicktoons" block on Canal J was renamed N-Toons. This change helped people know the difference between the block and the new full channel.
The Return as a Block
Years later, the N-Toons block made a comeback. On October 21, 2011, it started airing again. This time, it was part of the French version of Nickelodeon in a region called Wallonia. The block continued to show cartoons until July 31, 2015, when it finally stopped airing.
