Nigel Unwin facts for kids
Nigel Unwin is a famous British scientist. He works at a special lab called the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology. For many years, he was in charge of the Neurobiology Division there. This division studies how our brains and nerves work. He is also a professor at the Scripps Research Institute, which is another big science center.
About Nigel Unwin
Nigel Unwin was born far away in New Zealand. He studied at Cambridge University from 1965 to 1968. After that, he started working at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in 1968. He stayed there until 1980.
Later, he became a professor at Stanford University in the United States. He taught about cell biology from 1980 to 1987. In 1988, he came back to the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology. He also started working with the Scripps Research Institute at the same time.
Awards and Recognitions
Nigel Unwin has received many important awards for his science work.
- In 1983, he became a Fellow of the Royal Society (FRS). This is a very special honor for top scientists in the UK.
